Manta is a square shawl that is knit flat from the center out. There is a neck opening in the center with a slit out to one corner so you can wrap it all the way around your body easily.
The juxtaposition of straight lines and sharp corners on something soft and squishy is so satisfying to me. You may also like how the flecks in one section mirror the eyelets in the next.
Manta is relaxing to knit. Just when you start to grow bored with one section, there’s a small garter stripe for instant gratification before you move on to a different stitch pattern in the next section.
